I treat adults, teens, children and couples. I also offer group therapy.

My practice areas include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, marital and family therapy, life transitions, grief, job loss and separation and divorce.
I also specialize in ADHD, autism related disorders/developmental disorders and general parenting issues.

I believe first and foremost in establishing a therapeutic relationship built on honest exploration of thoughts and feelings, where clients feel safe, supported, and accepted.  With that as a foundation, I actively encourage and challenge clients to examine the roadblocks to their happiness and psychological health. I seek to help you reflect on patterns of communication, thinking, and ways of behaving that get in the way of optimal relating and living. Working together we identify your strengths and personal resources that can help you achieve your desired changes. I see myself as a partner to help you identify your goals and create a pathway toward reaching them. Our work will be collaborative, active and meaningful.

The relationship between therapist and patient thrives on emotional, intellectual, and cognitive “chemistry”.  Finding someone who is trustworthy, knowledgeable, experienced and skilled to guide you in this process of self-discovery is a very important decision. I am deeply committed to the clients I work with and to your overall health and contentment. As therapist, I see myself as a temporary partner helping raise your awareness, inquiring to seek and help you gain clarity and insight, assisting in setting meaningful goals, and partnering to help you build capability not dependence. By defining a scope of work, getting clarity about what you would like to change, and committing to the practice of new skills, we can help you move forward.

With a commitment from both of us, therapy can have extremely positive results including: Learning new ways of coping. Learning to think with more clarity and hopefulness. Gaining self awareness and insight.   Setting achievable goals and assuming personal responsibility to attain them.   Breaking addictions. Healing from pain. Relief from symptoms of anxiety, OCD, depression and racing thoughts. Managing extreme stress. Understanding how you think and the relationship you have with your own thoughts. Overcoming fears. Developing self reliance and resilience. Improving interpersonal dynamics with partners or family members. Strengthening personal and professional identity development Grieving loss and moving toward recovery. Increasing personal motivation. Achieving a sense of mastery in one’s life. Therapy and your commitment to yourself and your potential are the vehicles through which these outcomes become possible and attainable.
